5 POEMS - JANUARY 2005

1.
tearing down road
at break-neck speed
a blackbird

2.
must be getting old
even in dream
couldn't stiffen
for girl

3.
starlings gathered
on railway-sidings
dried grass-seeds

4.
weathered garden-shed
looks so right
no need to paint anew

5.
sitting zazen
mouth waters
thoughts of smoked tofu

(These poems were first seen on Kris Hemensley's "poetry & ideas" blog - posted on August 26, 2007. i have now slightly revised them. "weathered garden shed" was also published by Phyllis Walsh, in her magazine, "Hummingbird")
