WE DROVE ALL NIGHT...TO GET TO YOU...for KH.

Weymouth to Heathrow, to pick-up the bruv, arriving once again, from Down Under...remembering Roy Orbison and Cyndi Lauper... we were singing, my sister and i, in her litte boy-racer car...leaving home smack on mid-night...my first ever trip to an airport - (suddenly Tracy Chapman is singing "Fast Car") - i should get out more...too many internal flights  these past 64 years...must moreso be a "figure of outward"...

BOARDING A BUS BOUND FOR BRIDPORT

Olympic flags flapping in cool breeze on Esplanade.
Birds about, as bin-men clear garbage - Friday morning.
Two bananas and bottle of mineral water in bag, together with Gary Snyder book, to browse if needs be, on the bus.
It is grey - not the colour of an Indian Summer - but beautiful like Korean Zen monks i've seen, with soft-grey-slippered- feet - young; shaven-headed; androgynous.
Rain threatens.

The passenger ahead of me in queue, ruefully remarks that, it looks like it'll rain. I hope so, i laugh. i love the rain. i love summer rain. And he is happy to agree, it seems, as we board the bus.

Just a sprinkling of passengers.
I'm pleased the young, japanese tourist gets the seat at front- upstairs, for a panoramic view.
I get my favourite spot, behind the top of the stairs - lots of space around me.
The clouds and sky seem lighter...higher. Will the morning break into blue ?...as we leave...Weymouth...

BAH ! Should have brought poetry not Essays - ("Back on the Fire"). But i flick thru to some haiku Mr. Snyder has quoted and they set me aglow.
