IN AND OUT OF SLEEP the radio like a lullaby during the night and this early morning. My throat is parched and sore and i rise for water and fresh lemon to ease my croak... rising again with sweet music in my ears and descending the stairs i walk in the balmy-aired night garden...no moon no stars. Awakening for a third time i hear a radio commentator talking about SEAMUS HEANEY who like a Zen Master "wrote" a death poem minutes before he died for his wife i believe = NO NEED TO WORRY...DON'T BE AFRAID........ i would love to soundly sleep now listening to "the sounds of rain",,,,,,

A man of my acquaintance was completely non-plussed as to why i would be going by bus to West Bay earlier this afternoon. "All the pubs will be closed by the time you get there!" he said...He was wrong. But i did not go for the beer. The attraction, for me, was DAVID INSHAW'S "recent paintings" at SLADER'S YARD. Unfortunately, the short time i spent there, was about the time it would take to have a quick half-pint...But it would be Real English Ale at Slader's today!... The "OAK TREE" (oil on canvas, 36 x 38 inches, 2011 @ £30,000) caught my eye...the jagged lightning balanced by upward, forked and bare branches... And a limited edition print of "THE CRICKET GAME III" will always be a favourite..."Fuck off and don't come back" had an amusing storyline behind it, said one of the two painters i chatted to at the gallery = domestic drama = naked figures, a priappic figure and birds conflagrating in a night garden...i couldn't help but think of Maurice Sendak. Anyway, what with talking far too much... was it permissible to take fotos etc ...i would be in danger of missing my bus home...i only had just short of an hour available...i will be back for a full drinking session of this very English brew at Slader's Yard very soon...i hope.......

COOKIES !!!
Have just (7.50am) put a tray of cookie mixture into the oven (Gas 5). i no longer make individual cookies. Altho time is not an issue for me, i find it too messy and tedious!
INGREDIENTS:-
4 BANANAS
250gms JUMBO OATS
250gms SPELT FLOUR
100gms GROUND ALMONDS
3 or 4 Tbs GROUND FLAX SEEDS
some SUNFLOWER SEEDS
some MIXED VINE FRUITS
2 tsp GROUND GINGER
2 tsp GROUND CINNAMON
2tsp BAKING POWDER
4 Tbs SUGAR
some HONEY
&
enough RICE MILK
to get a good, stiff consistency.
*
Spread on lightly-oiled baking-tray, score into squares, and pop a whole cashew nut in middle of each cookie...artistically!
Put tray on a middle shelf in oven.
Bake for about 35minutes, according to the vagaries of your own oven.
*
(Apart from the spices, all ingredients were of Organic quality and origin.)
*
ET VOILA
or as WE say
YER TIS!
