...It came under my hand as i was scrapping a pile of "useless" stuff that i was using as scrap. But had got fed-up with the mess this morning, and was throwing everything out...except for this one sheet...
...which was left untouched, while i considered what to add. It was only after lunch that anything was added...a little grey graphite...some lines in oil pastel...a dab of ink with a sponge...and strokes of watered-down blue ink...SLOWLY!
Then, at six, i signed it = Nado...
..."Nado, Nado" means "Etc, Etc" in Japanese. Franco Beltrametti told me that during our correspondence in the '80's and '90's...
My days are slower now. i used to work very quickly, especially with poetry...the shorter a poem, the better... and "First thought, Best thought"... etcetera, etcetera. i am slower out of choice and maturity, not due to getting older! (?) But one only has so much time available each day...and from day to day. There is no time to lose. It comes-down to choices. Everything in life is a choice. SO... is my "painting" of A BOWL or, AN EGYPTIAN PAPYRUS BOAT ? as my sister reckons...Etc...Etc...
