SOOT & SNAILS : It was KOSHO UCHIYAMA ROSHI, i think, who ascribed his students' notions of ENLIGHTENMENT or MYSTICAL EXPERIENCES during ZAZEN, as being down to something they had eaten for dinner - Typical of the down-to-earth grit of ZEN...Likewise, these 10 ABSTRACT WORX, are down to SOOT, SNAIL TRAILS and GRIME on an old, white board, in a friend's backyard. But everything is subjective and we have eyes and hearts that can imagine the inordinate and immpossible...
Subtleties....remind me of my own encounters with the bark of trees...same same but different....I really like these
